Urban Cyclery Team clothing

Over the past few months I've been working on a brand new 10 piece team kit for the new Urban Cyclery Cycling Team. Once again I was able to combine my passion for cycling with my work and it has been a great pleasure working on this project with Lucas and Sam, owners of Urban Cyclery.

This week we received the proofs and samples back from the manufacturers and the finished garments should be with us by the end of January.

I'm so excited to see the end result of the last few months of work. I'll post the finished work on here as soon as I can.

Urban Cyclery: Coming Soon!

Over the past few weeks I've been working with a local bike shop called Urban Cyclery on a few projects. A total of six brand new designs are to be launched very soon which celebrate and capture the passion of cycling. As well as two Urban Cyclery branded tshirts, look out for a series of four based on their love of old rock band tshirts. Also in the pipeline is some other exciting stuff including Urban Cyclery jerseys.

I cannot wait to see these back form the printers....I'll post some photographs as soon I get hold of the finished products.

They will be available to buy from Urban Cyclery both in their Swansea shop as well as online here.

Stuart from London contacted me a to see if I could send him an edited version of my Scenic Sprint Illustration as he wanted to get it printed onto canvas. Yesterday he sent me a couple of images of the finished product mounted on his wall. Both he and I are very happy with the end result.

The Tour of Britain is coming to town this Monday so we thought it would be an ideal time to do some sort of bicycle themed window display in the gallery. I think it looks pretty good and seems to be popular with passers by. Thanks to Simon at Wheelies for the loan of the bianchi.

For my final project, as part of my Masters, I decided to write, illustrate and produce a Gambian specific story book, which would potentially be used in schools throughout the region in which my Dad teaches. Until now children would have access to only donated books, newspapers and comics, which they would use in the classroom to practice reading english, many of which were on subjects which were difficult for the children to identify with.

After several trips to the country, a number of visits to several schools and discussions with teachers, I identified a need for a book which was not only age specific but also Country specific, meaning that kids would be able to see pictures of landscapes and animals of Gambia.

Marvin The Monkey is a 16 page, full colour book, which was self published in September 2008. Above are a few sample pages. It has been one of my most challenging projects to date but also the most rewarding.

I initially designed this series of prints as a personal project. I have always enjoyed collecting quotes from various sources (Although, I came up with three out of the five sayings shown below), and decided to play around with several of them using bold, typeface orientated A3 prints. My brief was to compose positive messages in a clean and sharp way.

In these posters for a monthly night of 80's and 90's indie, punk and rock music called Goo!, I used full bleed black and white images of iconic 90's bands and live shows. The concept being the specific audience for this underground night would recognise these representations of their teenage 'going out years'.

After recent funding, the hall was looking to attract younger residents to live gigs and concerts. This logo was used on promotional material such as posters, flyers and magazine/newspaper advertising.
