Monkey's December Flyer and January Sale Post Up.

Skatpark Fundraiser Christmas Party

Ric over at Exist asked me to put something quick together which was "Christmas jumper themed".  Here's what I came up with for this rather specific brief:

Friends Don't Let Friends

This funny skate-related quote has always been a favorite of mine, so I decided to turn it into a print.  Lately, as you can probably tell, I've been really enjoying doing typography based work.

Update: 'Scenic Sprint' Illustration.

Stuart from London contacted me a to see if I could send him an edited version of my Scenic Sprint Illustration as he wanted to get it printed onto canvas.  Yesterday he sent me a couple of images of the finished product mounted on his wall.  Both he and I are very happy with the end result.

Window display for the Tour of Britain

The Tour of Britain is coming to town this Monday so we thought it would be an ideal time to do some sort of bicycle themed window display in the gallery.  I think it looks pretty good and seems to be popular with passers by.  Thanks to Simon at Wheelies for the loan of the bianchi.

Gamiban Schools Project

For my final project, as part of my Masters, I decided to write, illustrate and produce a Gambian specific story book, which would potentially be used in schools throughout the region in which my Dad teaches.  Until now children would have access to only donated books, newspapers and comics, which they would use in the classroom to practice reading english, many of which were on subjects which were difficult for the children to identify with.

After several trips to the country, a number of visits to several schools and discussions with teachers, I identified a need for a book which was not only age specific but also Country specific, meaning that kids would be able to see pictures of landscapes and animals of Gambia.

Marvin The Monkey is a 16 page, full colour book, which was self published in September 2008. Above are a few sample pages.  It has been one of my most challenging projects to date but also the most rewarding.

Exist Skateboards

I've been working with Ric at Exist Skateboards for a number of years now. To date, I've produced around five or six designs that have been used on a range of clothing, including tshirts, hooded sweatshirts and crew neck jumpers. Shown above are a couple of these designs (some of which I even modelled myself in a photoshoot with photographer Tyron Francis)

Scenic Sprint Tshirt

Exist Skateboards

I recently had the opportunity to fulfill a childhood dream: To design a skateboard graphic. I was commissioned to produce a logo and board graphics for a series of 'team boards' for a Skate shop.

Monkey Cafe & Club

I've been producing A5 monthly listings flyers for Monkey for the past 10 months. It's challenging to present the listings information.......

JT Painting & Maintenance

This logo was designed to be used for vehicle signage, staff uniforms and corporate stationary. The client wanted a logo that would stand out amongst the many local painting firms as well as stand for quality, expertise and trust.

Kerry Evans Art

I was given the chance to work on an ongoing series of projects for a local artist. Kerry needed a whole range of promotional material for art shows openings, trade shows and conventions, magazine advertising and editorials etc.

The People Bank & The Endoxa Way

Big River Solutions approached me to design a corporate logo for their existing websites, The People Bank and the Endoxa Way. The brief was to establish fresher, more contemporary brand identities.
